MENTORSHIP

"During my time in the BMED lab at Rice University, I was lucky enough to be mentored by Ryan for a project that I eventually presented at the Rice University Undergraduate Research Symposium. This was the first time that I had ever presented a poster at an event like this, so I was both excited and nervous at the beginning. However, Ryan’s guidance made RURS an excellent learning experience. She was very knowledgeable about the process of creating a poster and guided me through things in a very supportive manner. She was always available to lend a helping hand, but she also gave me the space to really guide the project through my own interests. Aside from the knowledge she was able to provide me, Ryan was kind and understanding throughout the entire process. Overall, Ryan helped me further my interests and become more comfortable presenting my research. I am so thankful for her support throughout my project and I admire her passion for the things that she does!"
